✿ Membership: a 3 month commitment is required for all members.
✿ Anyhow Studio reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or change classes without notice, for any reason.
✿ If class is cancelled, a full refund will be issued within 5 business days.
Studio Conduct & Guest Policy
✿ All persons who enter the studio are required to follow the Anyhow Studio campsite rules: leave the space better than how you found it. This includes, but is not limited to: cleaning the wheel after every use, keeping handbuilding tables clean and wiping down after use, disposing of personal trash and recyclables, putting tools away neatly and storing them in their rightful homes. Failure to follow these rules will not only bum us all out, but could result in termination from use of the studio.
✿ Anyhow Studio is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and safe space. Anyhow Studio does NOT tolerate discrimination, harassment, violence, or hate speech of ANY kind based on race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, religion, national origin, disability, sex, age, marital status, or political affiliation. Failure to abide by these rules will result in immediate action including, but not limited to dismissal from class without a refund.
✿ Guests of class participants are currently not permitted. Alternatively, studio tours are available by appointment.
Outside materials (clay, glaze, etc.)
✿ Anyhow Studio supplies Laguna 55, an off-white speckled stoneware. Currently, we are not able to accommodate any other clay body in workshops or for Drop-Ins.
✿ We do not allow use of any outside glazes commercial and non-commercial.
✿ Commercial underglaze is okay to use. We especially like Amaco Velvet Underglaze and Speedball.
Equipment
✿ Students will receive instruction on equipment use (wheels, extruder, tools) depending on class content. The kilns (Roberta, Frankie, Bepe, and Liza Minelli) are off limits to all students. Only Anyhow Studio Staff may load and unload the kilns. The kilns are EXPENSIVE and get very HOT! Please respect the kilns and admire them from a safe distance.
Commercial Activity
✿ Anyhow Studio was founded in order to serve beginner and intermediate clay artists. Commercial activity including, but not limited to, large-scale production, administrative work, meetings, and all other activities related to business operations are not permitted.
Work Pickup
✿The burning question that every potter wants to know! But first, a quick explanation of the firing process —
When loading a kiln, there are many factors to consider such as moisture level, size, shape, and glaze application. Imagine a game of Tetris, but instead of playing with sturdy blocks, you are playing with fragile, often irregularly shaped ceramic works. Sometimes your work will fit perfectly in the kiln that is being loaded, and sometimes we need to wait to safely fire it.
We do our absolute best to fire work in a timely fashion, usually 10-14 business days, but we will never speed up the process if it will compromise our kilns or any person’s work.
Accessibility
✿Unfortunately the studio is not wheelchair accessible. Although the studio is located on the first floor, there are two small steps. We will do absolutely everything we can to accommodate those who require additional assistance getting into the building. Please email hi@anyhowstudioprovidence.com for additional questions and/or requests.
We know that this is not ideal, and apologize for the extra steps that need to be executed in order to take a class with us.
*Our friends at The Steel Yard have wheelchair accessible facilities and equipment.
